Finding the End of the Rainbow
by Marissa Miller
This piece explores self-discovery and queer identity through five versions of myself, each in a different color of the spectrum. As the hues shift from red to purple, my expressions fade from confident to lost, symbolizing the fluid, emotional journey of finding myself. The braided pigtails connecting each figure represent the unbreakable ties between who I was and who I’m becoming.
About the artist
Marissa Miller
Marissa Miller is a first-year Cinema and Media Arts (Film Production) student from Jamaica, passionate about illustrating her stories and ideas through surrealist painting. Her work often explores emotion, memory, and imagined worlds as a way of visual storytelling. If you can’t find her in the art studio, she’s probably crocheting, experimenting with makeup, or binge-watching an entire movie franchise in one sitting. She is ecstatic to be part of the BIPOC Artist Hub and to continue developing her visual voice within a creative community!
